Seeing the lady on webcam
This is important for several reasons.
You may be dealing with a scammer using stolen pictures and pretending to be the girl in the pictures.
You will also be able to evaluate the language skills of the lady a little better.
Of course, you will get a better idea of what she actually looks like! Some asian ladies use somewhat altered pictures. This is not meant to be deceptive, but to make the lady look as pretty as possible. Usually, the lady looks perfectly nice in reality.
Some ladies feel reluctant to chat on cam in the early stages of a relationship. They may have run into too many men who are up to no good, and are rude to her when she appears on cam. Be polite, and firm. If you are approaching the point you are both serious, you should see each other on cam.
Using a cam, you can get a better idea of her personality, and language skills. It really is a great tool to become more familiar with each other before your first, actual meeting.
If the lady does not have a computer at home, remember, webcam use at an internet cafe usually costs extra. The fee is modest, but may be a significant sum to the lady. It is not inappropriate to consider sending MODEST sums of money, once the relationship has developed, to be used to pay for the ladies internet sessions WITH YOU. Please don't pay for computers, or provide any larger sums of money until after you've met in person.
It is possible to feed a tape loop of a prerecorded video over a webcam. SOME scammers have done this! Make sure your lady is reacting appropriately to your conversation, (facial expressions, etc.)
If she has a computer at home, with cam, you will also get an idea of how she lives. Who she lives with, etc.
If you send a modest gift, (flowers, etc) most normal ladies will proudly display it on cam, also!
Be polite! If she has to use an internet cafe, don't expect her to use a cam every time, but please 'see' the girl before you get too deeply involved.
